With all the different aspects of the game, is it any wonder that people want an Age Of Conan guide that will help them figure out just how to best propel themselves into Hyborian infamy? It does differ somewhat from other offerings in the MMO genre, pushing the limits of what is expected. I bet that Robert E. Howard never imagined anything like this in his wildest dreams when he first put pen to paper over seventy years ago.

The first thing that I would expect an Age Of Conan guide to help me with is the player versus player system. Most other massive multiplayer games out there just swear by the usual technique of engaging in combat. Whether it's against a player or a monster, they frequently default to the practice of making victory almost totally dependant on level or gear. Furthermore, the actual fight is controlled more by timers and spamming a couple moves. But this isn't good enough for everyone's favorite barbarian now, is it? The fights in this game have more of a real time, action bent to them, pressing keys to control your character. This is one of the few that try to combine action gameplay with the role playing genre. And one of the few where it's really possible for someone who is twenty levels or more below you to completely wipe the floor with your toon just on skill. That would be what I would want most out of an Age Of Conan guide - just something that will save me from that particular brand of humiliation.
The next thing I would be interested in is an Age Of Conan guide that tells me exactly how to make those riches. I am so tired of being broke in these games. I want gold, and plenty of it. After all, I am playing to have fun, not to be as penniless as I am in real life. Not that I am particularly broke, but you know what I mean. There are players that never seem to want for cash. And that part of the equation is all about the knowledge of how things are done. I mean, there just must be some secret techniques out there that enable certain people to earn tons of cash.
The next thing that I would personally want out of an Age Of Conan guide is some levelling tips. I generally am not the slowest ever in developing my character, but it does take me a long time. Longer than a lot of my friends even. I wouldn't say that this is the first bit of information that I would buy. But it is important. I like to know about PvP and gold making tactics early on since those are specific things that you have to learn to ever be good at them. As far as gianing levels goes, I know I'll get there eventually, so if I have to make a chouce, I find that info last. But I do find it if I can. There's no sense in prolonging things. Especially when an Age Of Conan guide or maybe several can save me a while lot of time and possible frustration.
